UTA Service Announcements for Pioneer Day

What: Utah Transit Authority advises its riders and the public of changes to bus, TRAX and FrontRunner service for Utah’s Pioneer Day holiday.

When: Saturday, July 24, 2010 – Pioneer Day

Info: On Friday, July 23, the day before Pioneer Day there will be no service changes. TRAX, buses and FrontRunner will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

TRAX

On Saturday, July 24, TRAX will run on a Sunday schedule with early and late trains to accommodate the Days of ’47 parade, fireworks and other festivities:

Saturday morning:

· First train from Sandy Civic Center to downtown: 5:40 a.m.

· First train from City Center to Sandy: 6:23 a.m.

· First train from Library to Medical Center: 5:38 a.m.

· First train from Medical Center to Library: 6:03 a.m.

Parade info:

· During the parade, University line trains will only run between Library and Medical Center. There will be no service on the University line from Library to downtown until the parade ends.

· All Sandy line trains will end at City Center. There will be no service between City Center and Arena until the parade ends.

Saturday evening:

· Last train from Salt Lake Central to Sandy: 11:34 p.m.

· Last train from Medical Center to Sandy: 11:43 p.m.

· Last train from Sandy Civic Center to Downtown: 10:40 p.m.

UTA Buses will operate on a Sunday schedule.

FrontRunner will run a Saturday schedule with an additional early train leaving Ogden at 7:16 a.m. and arriving at Salt Lake Central at 8:07 a.m.

In the morning, UTA will run a free TRAX shuttle between Salt Lake Central and Arena providing once an hour service for FrontRunner passengers. This train will only go as far as Arena due to the parade. Passengers wishing to travel further into downtown must walk from Arena station.

UTA to Run Late Train Following
Real Salt Lake Game and Fireworks

What: Utah Transit Authority advises Real Salt Lake fans of an additional late TRAX train from Sandy to Salt Lake to accommodate fireworks at Rio Tinto Stadium following the game on Saturday, July 24, 2010.

When: Saturday, July 24, 2010 – Pioneer Day

Info: On Saturday, July 24, TRAX will run on a Sunday schedule with early and late trains for the Days of ’47 parade, fireworks and other festivities. See www.rideuta.com for details.

The last regularly scheduled train departs Sandy Civic Center at 10:40 p.m. However, to accommodate crowds attending the Real Salt Lake vs. Chivas USA soccer game and subsequent fireworks show, an additional late train will be held at Sandy Expo Station (9400 South) to depart 45 minutes after the conclusion of the event.
