Bangerter Bridge

UPDATED Activity: Crews will be performing work on the Bangerter Highway overpass at approximately 8700 South. Traffic Impacts: Two right southbound lanes of Bangerter Highway will be closed 8/1 (Saturday) and two left northbound lanes will be closed on 8/2 (Sunday) to accommodate handrail installation. The median will remain closed through mid-August.




Sugar Factory Area

Activity: Please be aware that flagging operations will be taking place intermittently through July at 2700 West near the tracks to accommodate construction vehicles; please follow flagger’s instructions.



Activity: Please be aware that flagging operations will be taking place intermittently through July at 3200 West near the tracks to accommodate construction vehicles; please follow flagger’s instructions.




Old Bingham Area

Activity: Work will be taking place on 4000 West at the trackway located near Old Bingham Highway. Traffic Impacts: 4000 West will be closed at the trackway from 7/27 (Monday) to 8/16 (Sunday). Old Bingham Highway will also be closed at 4000 West during these dates. Please use 4800 West or Bangerter Highway as alternate routes.



Activity: Utility work. Traffic Impacts: On Old Bingham Highway just west of the Bangerter Highway overpass, traffic will be restricted to one lane with flagging operations during working hours (7 am to 5 pm) and lane shifts during non-working hours through 7/26 (Sunday).



Activity: Eastbound shoulder closure on Old Bingham Highway west of Bangerter Highway through July.



Activity: Please be aware that flagging operations will be taking place intermittently through 2009 at 4800 West near Old Bingham Highway to accommodate construction vehicles. Please note that left turns are allowed from the through lane; please follow flagger’s instructions.

Gardner Village Area

NEW Activity: Bridge work at 7200 South and approximately 600 West. Traffic Impacts: The leftmost lane of 7200 South in each direction will be closed 8/1 (Saturday) and 8/2 (Sunday) to accommodate pile driving work.



UPDATED Activity: Utility and bridge work. Crews will be working at 700 West near approximately 7400 South. Traffic Impacts: The northbound right lane of 700 West will be closed from 8/6 (Thursday) through 8/14 (Friday) to accommodate drainage work. The southbound shoulder of 700 West will be closed in this immediate area through mid-August.



UPDATED Activity: Construction on the Jordan River TRAX bridge. Traffic Impacts: The Jordan River Parkway Trail near approximately 7500 South will be intermittently detoured through August 2009. Please be aware that the detour does cross a live railway track, and as such, the detour will be closed daily from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. when freight is actively running on the track. Please plan accordingly. UPDATE (7/23/09): The trail will be detoured from 7/31 (Friday) through 8/7 (Friday) to accommodate bridge work.



Activity: Access to Gardner Village from the Jordan River Parkway Trail is closed until August 2009.






Cottonwood Area

NEW Activity: Bridge work at 7200 South and approximately 600 West. Traffic Impacts: South sidewalk will be closed in the immediate area through 8/3.



UPDATED Activity: Bridge work on Winchester Street and approximately 400 West. Traffic Impacts: Traffic is also subject to intermittent flagging operations through 7/31 to accommodate construction vehicles. Please plan accordingly and use detour routes as posted.

Traffic Impacts: 2700 West will be closed at the trackway from 6/10 (Wednesday) until 6/17 (Wednesday). 2700 West will remain accessible at Sugar Factory Road. Please use 3200 West or 2200 West as alternate routes. UPDATED Activity: Work will be taking place on 2200 West at the trackway located near Sugar Factory Road. Traffic Impacts: The centermost eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed beginning 5/31 (Sunday) through June. Activity: Crews will be working on 700 West near approximately 7400 south. Traffic Impacts: The southbound right lane of 700 West will be closed in this immediate area from 6/1 (Monday) to 6/5 (Friday). Activity: Access to Gardner Village from the Jordan River Parkway Trail is closed until August 2009. UPDATED 5/29/09 Activity: Construction on the Jordan River TRAX bridge. Traffic Impacts: A temporary detour began the week of October 13th, 2008 on the Jordan River Parkway Trail near approximately 7500 South. The trail will be intermittently detoured through August 2009. Please be aware that the detour does cross a live railway track, and as such, the detour will be closed daily from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. when freight is actively running on the track. Please plan accordingly. UPDATE: The trail is currently open on its regular route. The trail will be detoured on 6/9 and 6/10 from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm to accommodate bridge work. The trail will be open on its regular route outside of those hours.

Bangerter Bridge

UPDATED Activity: Crews will be performing work on the Bangerter Highway overpass at approximately 8700 South. Traffic Impacts: On May 21 (Thursday), one north and two southbound lanes will be closed. The centermost lane in each direction will be closed on May 18 (Monday) through May 22 (Friday). Two northbound left lanes will be closed on 5/21 (Thursday).

Sugar Factory Area

NEW Activity: Work will be taking place on 2200 West at the trackway located near Sugar Factory Road. Traffic Impacts: 2200 West will be closed at the trackway from 5/27 (Tuesday) until 6/2 (Tuesday). 2200 West will remain accessible at Sugar Factory Road. Please use Redwood Road or 2700 West as alternate routes. Activity: Work will be taking place on 3200 West at the trackway located near 8600 South. Traffic Impacts: 3200 West will be closed at the trackway until 5/19 (Tuesday). Please follow posted detour signs along 4000 West and 8600 South, or along Haun Drive (also 8600 South) and 2700 West. Activity: Utility work is currently ongoing. Traffic Impacts: Shoulder work with possible lane restrictions.

Old Bingham Area

Activity: Bridge work. Traffic Impacts: Old Bingham Highway at the Bangerter Highway overpass will be restricted to one lane with flagging operations on May 15 (Friday). UPDATED Activity: Work will be taking place on 4800 West at the trackway near Old Bingham Highway. Traffic Impacts: Due to materials issues, the closures at 4800 West will be extended until the evening of 5/18 (Monday). Please watch this e-mail update for changes. Please follow posted detour signs and use Wasatch Meadows Drive as an alternate. Please watch for intermittent flagging operations on Wasatch Meadows Drive. UPDATED Activity: Eastbound shoulder closure on Old Bingham Highway west of Bangerter Highway through June.

Gardner Village Area

UPDATED Activity: Crews have resumed work on the bridge at 7800 South near Gardner Village. Traffic Impacts: Eastbound traffic has been shifted to the north side of the road until 5/15 (Friday). The center lanes in each direction will be closed from 5/18 (Monday) through mid-June. Activity: Access to Gardner Village from the Jordan River Parkway Trail is closed until August 2009. Activity: Construction on the Jordan River TRAX bridge. Traffic Impacts: A temporary detour began the week of October 13th, 2008 on the Jordan River Parkway Trail near approximately 7500 South. UPDATED Activity: Crews will be working to complete Cottonwood Street improvements. Traffic Impacts: 300 West is closed between the I-215 overpass and Winchester Street until May 19 (Tuesday). Pedestrian access will be maintained. Please use State Street as a driving alternate. Activity: Crews are continuing access and utility work near 300 West and the intersection of Winchester Street and Cottonwood Street. Traffic Impacts: Shoulder work with lane restrictions.

Bangerter Bridge

Activity: Crews will be drilling in preparation for the main center pier in the median area at approximately 8700 South (just south of the Old Bingham Highway overpass). Traffic Impacts: To accommodate equipment movement, beginning on Thursday at 9:00 p.m., the centermost northbound and southbound lanes of Bangerter Highway will be closed, and the center southbound lane will close at 11:00 p.m. All lanes will re-open at 5:00 a.m. Friday morning. Also, the Old Bingham Highway overpass at Bangerter Highway and the northbound centermost lane and southbound centermost and center lanes of Bangerter Highway will be closed from 9:00 p.m. on October 24^th through 5:00 a.m. on October 27^th.

Activity: Construction of sound wall along right-of-way rail corridor between 2700 West and 3200 West will begin on October 6th and will continue through November.

Traffic Impacts: From October 20^th through November 2^nd, Old Bingham Highway will have one lane open with flagging operations at the Bangerter overcrossing. Rail Delivery

Rail delivery will take place October 16^th and 17^th. This activity will have moderate to severe impacts at 5200 West, 4800 West, Wasatch Meadows Drive, and 3200 West. Train crossings can take between 20 and 60 minutes and more than one intersection could be blocked at one time. Police will be redirecting traffic at grade crossings. Please plan accordingly.

Bangerter Bridge

Activity: Crews will be removing the median barrier in the area of approximately 8700 South (near the Old Bingham Highway overpass). Traffic Impacts: Northbound and southbound centermost lanes will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on October 13^th through October 17^th. The median will be replaced with water barrels and remain closed through December.

Rail Delivery

Rail delivery is anticipated within the next couple of weeks. This activity may have moderate traffic impacts at grade crossings. A separate e-mail notification regarding rail delivery activities will follow as information becomes available.

Bangerter Bridge

Activity: Crews will be removing the median barrier in the area of approximately 8700 South (near the Old Bingham Highway overpass). Traffic Impacts: Northbound and southbound centermost lanes will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on October 13^th through October 17^th.
