Panel backs bill to let UDOT find a private partner for a highway

Companies are scouring the country for the chance to build a highway and purchase the right to charge motorists for driving on it.
Their first opportunity may lie on the west side of Salt Lake County.
A House committee Thursday signed off on SB80, a bill that would allow Utah's Department of Transportation to contract with a private business to create a toll road. "
